Qualification in this field, coupled with my PVG, permits me to work with children between 5 and 16. David currently work for Aberdeenshire Active Schools Kemnay Cluster delivering before and after school fitness classes to 4 primary schools. Also assists in sports holiday camps, I Can Lead sports leadership sessions and various other activities.
The Activ-IQ L3 PT qualification is regarded as the best in the country. David does mobile PT sessions taking kit to clients houses for the session. Tapping into the central belief that fitness is for everyone he feels he can reach those without the confidence or time to go to the gym. The sessions are just as challenging as it would be in the gym and David uses his vast experience and knowledge to ensure the sessions are not repetitive and fun.
David is an experienced Boxercise instructor having run many of his own classes, kids classes and class cover for various gyms. Boxercise is an exercise concept based on the training methods used by boxers. Sessions typically involve hitting focus pads but no class involves hitting an opponent. It is a fun, challenging and safe workout which is great for stress busting, accessible to all ages and fitness levels.
Metafit is one of David's favourite classes to do and you can tell when he leads the class.
Metafit is a high-intensity workout including a series of body-weight exercises with interval style training, designed to keep your body burning calories long after your training session is complete.
Designed by a former marine, this is a class you can be sure to push your limits in.
It’s only thirty minutes long, but you will train hard the entire time. It’s suitable for everyone and you can adjust the exercises to suit your own abilities.
Boot Camp will always be David's first love as it was the first class he ever instructed. Boot Camp is similar to a circuit style workout but done outside. Where is differs is the individual and team games and relays, cross fit inspired workouts as well as traditional circuit training. No 2 sessions are the same and you will get to use lots of different peices of kit from tractor tyres to fitness sleds and everything in between!
More commonly known as TRX (mis-used like all vacuum cleaners being called a Hoover) suspended bodyweight training is bodyweight training using adjustable straps hung form a strong point which creates instability forcing your core to work hard, Whilst no Suspended Bodyweight classes are run at present they are used in Boot Camps and PT sessions.
The kettlebell is a cast iron or cast steel ball with a handle attached to the top. It is used to perform many types of exercises, including ballistic exercises that combine cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training. **Kettlebell class starting soon, keep an eye out on socail media for start date and location**
